Thomas L. Vaughn
Chief of Police with 11 years of executive leadership and 29 years of service in law enforcement. A graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, Chief Vaughn is also a certified law enforcement instructor in Indiana.
Throughout his distinguished career, Chief Vaughn has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Medal of Valor, the Life Saver Award, the Lions Club International Person of the Year Award, the Indiana Law Enforcement Herman Freed Award for Leadership, and the prestigious Jefferson Award for outstanding public service.
In addition to his operational leadership, Chief Vaughn is an accomplished public speaker and trusted media representative, frequently appearing in television interviews and community forums. He has extensive experience leading training programs for both law enforcement professionals and civilian groups, underscoring his commitment to public safety, professional development, and strengthening community relationships.
Beyond his professional life, Chief Vaughn has been married for 38 years to his high school sweetheart. Together, they have raised three children and enjoy time with their eight grandchildren. At 56 years old, he continues to serve with dedication, integrity, and a deep commitment to both his community and family.
